How To Install Ricoh Print Drivers for MacOS

This guide is intended to help Mac users install Ricoh print drivers manually. An easier and faster option is to use the Ricoh Auto Installer but if you insist see below.

Again the Ricoh Auto Installer performs each step automatically with one click.

How to steps

  1. Download the print drivers directly from Ricoh's website. If the Ricoh website is unavailable, you can download the latest Ricoh print drivers here.
  2. Extract the print drivers.
  3. Install the print drivers and create the print queue.

Step 1. Download OEM Print Drivers

Go to https://www.ricoh-usa.com/en/support-and-download enter your Model Number and click search.

Select the Model.

Click Agree on the agreement.

Select your operating system and select the Ricoh Mac OS Ver.1.8.0.0 Released Date: 05/20/2020.

Other Drivers

Ricoh only has 1 Postscript driver available for Mac OS. There are no Mac OS PCL driver available at this time.

Step 2. Extract the Print Drivers and install the Package file

  1. Go to your Downloads folder, open the DMG file, run the Package file (You'll need the admin password to the computer).

Step 3. Goto System Perferences & Create Print Queue

Go to System Perferences and click on Printers & Scanners.

Click on the + to create the print queue.

Select IP enter Address, Protocol Line Printer Daemon - LPD, enter print for Queue, enter a Name and select a model.

Whats my IP Address?

Go to the Home Screen and click on Settings.

Click on Machine Features.

Click on System Settings.

Click on the Interface Settings and select Machine IPv4

Change default print settings

Open up a web browser and goto http://localhost:631/printers

If you get the following message, open up Terminal and type the cupsctl WebInterface=yes command.
